Presentation

Jeanne Tresvaux du Fraval is a designer and visual artist based in France. She explores everyday objects questioning their shapes and meanings. Archives, economy, and ecology are the main areas of reflexion of her work.

She creates ongoing constructions using materials, shapes, and objects. Folding, assembling, and modularity are central to her process, allowing endless combinations. Her works are easy to pack, tie, or store. This mobility reflects the need to adapt constantly in a world affected by climate change.

Many of her pieces include hooks, loops, or handles — as if they were made to be both archived and used. She believes her works should continue to live, wear out, and change through use. In this way, they create their own kind of sustainability.

By observing how we relate to everyday things, she imagines other possibilities — as if these objects were already future relics. From unexpected combinations, new needs emerge.

All her pieces are made with simple forms, few resources, and basic colors and materials. The objects are raw and practical. Their shape comes naturally from their use and the material itself.

Each object, installation, or handmade garment questions how materials are used and how they change. Jeanne Tresvaux du Fraval values handcraft, timelessness, and remaining natural resources. She uses lasting materials like linen, beeswax, wood, clay, and wool.

Jeanne is also the cofounder of Studio de Lostanges. Founded in 2019, Studio de Lostanges was born out of a deep connection to traditional craftsmanship and the region of Brittany. Jeanne and her sister Louise design contemporary garments made from durable materials, far removed from industrial logic.
